Step 1: Make a Decision

Before you start pursuing your career in medicine, you must make sure that you know what your interests are, what subject combinations you need to take in class 12, and what courses you are eligible for in order to become a doctor. Even after MBBS, you need to choose between various specializations that are offered in MD, based on your area of interest. A career as a doctor is often demanding and stressful at times, you must have the zeal and motivation to work for the people even in stressful conditions.

Step 2: Choose the Right Subjects

After taking a firm call on your career choice, the second most important step is to choose the correct subjects in class 10+2, such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology predominantly. These are the best subject combinations to take up medicine as a career option. You need to be very sure that you have an interest and basic command over these subjects, only then you can do higher studies in medicine.

Step 3: Prepare for NEET 2021

After appearing for 10+2 one can appear for the NEET examination and only after qualifying in NEET one would be able to start with their MBBS. After qualifying for the NEET examination, every student would be given a particular college through counseling where they can pursue MBBS.

Step 4: Choose the Right College

If you are aiming to get admission in government colleges then you will have to score really high in NEET. If your score is low then you can opt for any private Medical College, which accepts your marks. Experts and professionals say it is always better to take admission in govt colleges as they have the best faculty, a lower MBBS course fee, and well developed labs. Step 5: Qualify MBBS

Appearing for NEET and taking admission in the best medical college is just the beginning of the journey. This journey is a 5 year and 5 months long that has to be completed with a lot of dedication and patience. Step 6: Get yourself Registered with Indian Medical Register

In order to become a Doctor, one should register themselves with any state medical council in India. An doctors who are registered with any state medical council will be eligibile to be registered under Indian Medical Register.

Step 7: Pursue Internship

After completing the 5 years MBBS course, every student has to do a one year residential internship. Usually right after the course is complete, most students are offered internships in their respective colleges, but if anyone wants then they can apply in other hospitals too.
